Done all this in about 3 minutes drivers and service batchĪdd these to your OS install DVD so it's all in one place, each machine I have I made a DVD with the OS-Drivers- and services batch based on what that machine does ( nework stuff is on and shares crap) while on the Daw all that is off.

So this is why I Automated this with a batch and this way all you do is when you do a reinstall is install the OS, run double driver and reload your drivers ( a few seconds) then reboot 1 time for drivers to take effect, then run the services batch. I use Puppy Linux ( booting in non bootable systems )and Double Driver to back up drivers and it can backup from other drives as well so you can run double driver on another OS to backup the other OS veyr nice! I use these as the primary tools for my computer store as those 2 never fail!! Well like I said I do this for a living so I know every damn service coming from Windows 1.0 to Windows 8 LOL, over the years you get bored turning off service after service. Now I need to figure out the best way of making a backup of this configuration and save myself another 6 hour slog. Quick update.Win 7 Ultimate 64bit Reaper nning better than ever.ġms second buffer with shitloads going on. Okey dokey.that seems to have done the trick!ĭecent sized project loaded ,record armed and running smoothly at 48samples. Gonna do it now.Need my machine ready for when inspiration strikes.just un case this is a balls up.theres a default settings batchfile here fyi and I'm getting pop n clicks so I need to get it optimisised again. Thats awesome Dan.spent 6 hours doing this reinstall last night with all the Win updates and everything.I'm gonna sort out a better way. Like I said I added the backup drivers folder from double driver and the batch tool into the Windows 7 ISO, so this way it's all there ready to go NO MESSING AROUND!!. It will backup your drivers and then also allow you to restore them, it is my favourite free tool and it works great by allowing you to install the OS, then run double driver and restore the backup drivers, then I run the batch I showed you here 3 minutes to restore the driver and run the batch to tweek the OS. I have one for XP 32bit, Windows 7 32/64 bit and finished Windows 8 x32 and 圆4Īlso if you can please download Double Driver as this is FREE as in beer!!. This is an excellent tool if you did a reinstall and need to setup your OS again, no need to manually do all that work when you can just run this batch and make the computer tweek itself LOL. If you want run this on your system, however if you want to go back let's say just look at the batch However You can go as far as running Windows without explorer.exe which means you will have to use task manager ( as it runs separate from explorer.exe) to run your apps. This batch will not interfere with the "critical services" that must be on, that is why I did not put them on the batch list.

I work in a desktop, who the hell is going to do HD video editing on a portable laptop with an SSD drive that will get killed doing HD video editing. And the problem now is Microsoft is following their trail too.

Remember Final Cut X, the removal of the Pro features, Apple is clearly trying to shake off the Pro users as there is no more money to be made selling computers, however selling a $600 phone is almost $400 profit, gezz for $700 you can almost buy 2 decent laptops.

When Audio moves fully to Linux ( coming soon as Windows and Mac OS X are slowly slipping away to a Phones universe) Hope that in a short time developers will start seeing Linux as the way to go. My home server runs Puppy Linux ( Slacko) just due to it having everything in under 100 megs ISO image, this Server backs up my systems every friday through the home network, however my favourite Linux desktop OS ( eye candy) nothing comes close to Linux Mint "Cinamoon", that stuff is smooth. You would be surprise how much power is hampered by a default OS X install, speaking honestly, a default OS X install is the same crap as a Windows 7 install, dozens of useless services running. So yes I am more of a Linux fan than even OS X or Windows. How do you I boot into no bootable OS X and Windows systems? = Puppy Linux on 8 gig usb flash drives or cdrom as that is what I give out to my employees to use, cheap and effective for the repair workstations.

Thanks, since I have on Windows since well the Dos days, I have grown up with it I guess to the point where I run a small Computer store and do some audio gigs on the side on the weekends so you bet I have to know every service inside out, in fact I help out a lot of mac users tweek their systems as well, and since OS X is FreeBSD in nutshell I can setup custom Mac configs as well for users interested in getting maximum speed.
